The Mojito originated from Havana in the late 19th century and gained popularity in the 1930’s. It’s made of mint, cane sugar, and rum; similar to a Mint Julep.

method

  1. muddle mint leaves, lime wedges and cane sugar in a highball glass
  2. fill with crushed ice and rum
  3. stir and top up with soda water to taste
  4. decorate with mint sprig
